Bridges Unite

Bridges Unite is a Miami Based Women’s Professional Networking Organization intended to be a dynamic inclusive platform created for women who want to fulfill their personal and career ambitions at the highest level. They host large networking events and speaking engagement for their members.

PROBLEM

Bridges Unite created an amazing community that met regularly through their hosted events. The founders had a desire to create an online experience that better reflected their offline events. Unfortunately their current digital options such as the Bridges Unite Website, Facebook groups and LinkedIn where falling short of this goal. They needed a custom solution, a platform designed around the organizations core values.

SOLUTION

Redesign BrigdesUnite.com into a social networking platform which connects users based on skills, values, and interest.

  • UX Audit & Competitive and Best in Class We did a broad analysis of the bridges unite website, top digital social networking platforms as well as professional networking organization for men and women. This analysis helped us to better understand best practices within social networking platform and aided our focus around the mission statement.

  • Surveys We conducted a survey with members of Bridges Unite as well the wyncode community. These responses helped us to focus on specific paint points and features that were crucial in our design.

DEFINE

  • Problem Statement Bridges Unite is Women’s Professional Networking Organization intended to be a dynamic inclusive platform created for women who want to fulfill their personal and career ambitions at the highest level. We have observed that the Bridges Unite website is not achieving its goal of creating  a vibrate online community through engagement of social interactive features, which hindering their potential growth. How can we improve the Bridges Unite website, so that their community is able to interact with each other outside of their hosted networking events.

  • Personas We created two personas, one based on the two primary roles within the organization members and ambassadors.

  • User Journey During our user journey session we created a road map of how the user would engage with the Bridges Unite platform. We had five steps in our journey, Awareness, Consideration, Join, Engagement and Evaluation. We also had several personas within the user journey, Bridges Unite has multiple member types and each member type had to be explored in this session. Overall this was an incredibly productive experience, helping us to generate features and ideas incredibly fast.

  • Features and Feature Prioritization We gathered all the features that were generated during our user journey and organized them in different categories. After that we used a feature prioritization matrix to help us to determine which features would be the most important for our MVP. We then designed a sticky note version of our user dashboard, this served as our road map when designing our wires.

Design

  • Wireframes We designed some basic wire frames and presented them in one of our stake holder meetings, we noted the stake holder feedback and continued to refine our design.

  • Mockups After revising our wires several times, we designed some high fidelity mock ups using best practices. The mock-ups were also used in our Final presentation on Wyncode pitch night. The founders loved the features and our UI design. They felt that designs really reflected their organization.
